The former first lady Lucy Kibaki has been hospitalized. Lucy Kibaki is currently at the Nairobi Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
According to close sources, Lucy Kibaki fell ill in their Muthaiga Suburb where she was first taken to the Gertrude’s hospital for what they termed as ‘emergency care’. After a short while the former first lady was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance followed by two government vehicles.
Lucy Kibaki who has been missing from government and family events since 2013 was aid to have difficulties in breathing.
This is not the first time the former first lady is being rushed to the hospital; in 2013 she complained of chest pains and was rushed by family and friends and later admitted at St Teresa’s ward.
It is interesting to note that the former first lady was very vocal during her husband’s first term in the office, where she could accompany he president in most of his events.
Lucy traveled to China and the US together with the former president.
Her last public event was during the promulgation of the new constitution at Uhuru Park where she joined thousands of Kenyans in dancing ‘Taunet Nelel’.
The former first lady was not your ordinary woman, at one time she stormed a media house at night for having reported about her. In another instance, Lucy confronted the former security minister George Saitoti over Sachang’wani tragedy.
The most dramatic of all is when she slapped an emcee at statehouse when she was misrepresented.
