Cases of police officers being assaulted have been on the rise. A police officer attached to Central Police Station was on Sunday attacked his colleague and stabbed after he tried to intervene in a domestic brawl at Central Police Station in Nairobi.
The injured officer was trying to mediate in a quarrel between his attacker and the wife when the accused stabbed him on the hand.
OCPD Paul Wanjama said that the officer was taken to hospital, treated and discharged adding that investigations into the incident had been launched.
Incidents of police officers getting hurt over domestic brawls have been on the rise, recently an officer died in Isiolo and in January another one died in Kirinyaga in almost similar incidents.
