The students from UoN were asked to go home a few weeks ago after a riot that emerged during the elections of SONU chairman. These were followed by riots from the opposition which was led by SONU aspirant Mike Jacobs which hit the country with chills from parents over their children welfare.
The worst part was when a video went viral showing how police ruthlessly beat the student. The institution called for an indefinite closure and shortly suspended 33 students who were identified to have started the violence. Among the UoN 33, was major opponent Mike Jacobs.
Sources reveal that Mike Jacobs has been expelled from the institution. Vice Chancellor Peter Mbithi said the University’s disciplinary committee issued warning letters to 143 students while 17 others have been pardoned . The university officially re-opens on the 3rd of May.
