A Member of Parliament from Kericho County is nursing injuries after allegedly being firmed by KANU supporters. Bureti MP, Leonard Sang said that the group attacked him during the campaigns for the just concluded Kericho Senatorial by-election.
Leonard Sang was supporting Jubilee’s candidate Aaron Cheuruiyot who was the main competitor to Kanu’s candidate Paul Sang. He sustained injuries on the neck and is undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
In the election that was conducted on Monday 7th March Jubilee candidate Aaron Cheruiyot won by a 60% margin despite electoral malpractices such as bribery, stealing and threatening of voters.
Kanu’s candidate Paul Sang came second with 56,307 votes.
