The media in Kenya today is changing thanks to the emergence of many TV and radio Stations. The Royal Media Services owed by S.K macharia laid off 4 senior journalists.
The journalists include Evelyn Wambui who recently walked down the aisle and delivered a baby, was sent home alongside Kendagor Obadiah, Pheona Kenga and Patrick Injendi .
Citizen TV which enjoys over 50 % viewership will never be the same again. Recently, the citizen poached reporters from the Mombasa road based station who includes Sam Ogina, Mercy Kandie and Michael Karanja who was the business editor.
Close sources say that the four reporters were withdrawn to cut costs as well as strategize ahead of general elections next year. Kendagor Obadiah and Everlyn Wambui are said to be axed due to what many termed as displinary ground.
Obadiah is said to be eyeing a political seat next year hence he used to abscond duties on weekends where he would travel to his rural home. On the other hand Wambui was not good timekeeper and would come late way after 8am.
