Ex-cabinet minister Nicholas Biwott has died.
The veteran politician died on Tuesday, July 11 at a Nairobi hospital, where he was admitted after a long illness.
The former Keiyo South MP and powerful minister under the Moi government died at Nairobi hospital earlier today.
He has been battling what was believed to be cancer for several years, and has had to deny reports of his death in a few occasions. In 2014, he threatened to sue those spreading the rumours on social media.
The politician served under Kenya’s first 3 presidents in various top government posts. Until his death, he was the leader of National Vision Party, but had taken a back seat in the country’s politics in the last few years.
Biwott was aged 77 years
