After his humiliating loss Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto will attend the swearing in ceremony of his political nemesis Joyce Laboso, his replacement as county boss.
The ceremony is planned for today (Tuesday, August 22), in Bomet county and is expected to be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto. Laboso was elected on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Isaac Ruto is also expected to make a huge announcement pertaining to his political future.
“I will announce my next course of action once the governor-elect is sworn in. I can confirm that I will be present to hand over and thereafter tell Kenyans where I will be heading to,” the Standard quoted him.
As posted above, the outgoing county head will be available to hand over the instruments of power to former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and Sotik MP.
He will be appearing in public for the first time since suffering the humiliating loss. He will share the same podium with Uhuru and DP Ruto, after a very long time, since parting ways and him joining the Opposition.
The ex Governor and Chama Cha Mashinani leader has been at loggerheads with DP Ruto, his URP (now defunct) co-founder, in what pundits said were supremacy wars for control of Kalenjins and the vote-rich Rift Valley by extension.
Ruto abandoned Jubilee opting for the National Super Alliance (NASA) instead where he became the fifth principal, never mind Bomet county is one of Jubilee strongholds.
