CORD leaders held a press conference at Serena Hotel after the Okoa Kenya Referendum bid failed seeking for an alternative.
Bungoma Senator, Moses Wetan’gula assured CORD supporters that, “We will use legal, extra-legal, extra-judicial and any other means to uphold our constitutional rights,”
Wetan’gula further stated that, “The Jubilee together with its puppet the IEBC have been colluding to disrupt our referendum bid. IEBC just exercised what Jubilee has instructed them to do.”
The opposition leaders defended the signatures submitted saying that they are genuine and they had been per-verified before submission to IEBC.
Kalonzo Musyoka lamented IEBC saying that the country has gone through a lot and need to be liberated.
“We cannot go to the next election with the current IEBC,” narrated Kalonzo.
IEBC however has confirmed only 891,598 signatures are verified out of the 1.5 million signatures submitted.
CORD leaders are now set for a new course of action which will be communicated by Okoa Kenya.
