A businessman has moved to court accusing his girlfriend of two weeks of theft.
Felix Muyua claims Mary Ndunge Musyoka stole his personal valuables worth Sh40,000 on March 5 at his house.
Muyua told police that he met the accused in a matatu on December 27 while heading to his rural home in Machakos for Christmas. Ndunge is also reportedly from the same area.
It is alleged that the two exchanged contacts and became very close and were in constant communication, before later becoming lovers.
Their relationship blossomed and before long, the accused reportedly called Muyua claiming she was tired of staying in the village and wished to move to the city for some time as she looked for a job.
The court heard that Muyua accepted to host Ndunge since he lived alone in Starehe area.
The two lived together from early February to March 5 when Muyua left the accused alone in the house for the first time in their live-in relationship to work.
But on returning home later in the evening, he was surprised to find the door locked. Shocked as he was, he called Ndunge to know her whereabouts since she was not so familiar with the city.
Ndunge instead directed him where she had left the house keys before switching off her phone.
Muyua opened the house only to find his television set, pizza box, DVD player and woofer missing. He reported the matter to police.
Police searched for Ndunge and was arrested on March 27 but denied the charges in court. She was released on cash bail of Sh30,000.
The case will be heard on July 4, 2016.
