Reports reaching us about the late msandos death indicate that investigators of the Saturday, July 29, cold blood murder of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ICT chief, have narrowed down their probe to two possible causes.
According to the Star sources, authorities are following leads that Chris Msando could have died because of procurement tender rows at the electoral body or a love gone sour.
The unnamed sources old the daily that investigators had identified the two theories as the most credible lines of investigation.
Msando went missing on the wee hours of Saturday morning but his disappearance was reported by his wife at Embakasi Police Station a day later after his wife with the help of family and friends failed to locate him.
A body discovered at a forest in Kikuyu on Saturday at midday turned out to be the missing ICT guru after it was positively identified by his family on Monday, July 31.
Msando died alongside a woman who has since been identified as 21-year-old Kenya Medical Training College, Karen Campus student Carol Ngumbu (She is also being referred by a section of the media as Maryanne).
Police investigations have revealed that Msando and Ngumbu spent time together at a Nairobi club on Friday, where they partied for hours. A waiter at the Koinange Street joint has already been quizzed by investigators.
A postmortem performed on the deceased at the Lee Funeral home, revealed that Msando was tortured and strangled to death.
Yesterday, Peter Msando, the Family Spokesman and elder brother of the deceased, told the police to accept help from the FBI and Scotland Yard to unravel the motive behind the murder.
