As election nears, political parties are preparing themselves to ensure that they win. Yesterday Kalonzo and his Wiper Party met at Kasarani where he was endorsed as the flag bearer.
Elections had been going on peacefully before a group of supporters stormed the party offices and started chanting slogans against President Uhuru Kenyatta’s campaign coordinator Susan Kihika.
The angry protesters unsuccessfully tried to convince Jubilee Party Secretary-General Veronicah Maina to stop the elections, arguing that she had a preferred list of nominees.
Elswhere, in Taita Taveta, a similar chaotic mood characterised the elections which were held at a hotel in Voi town.
Party supporters from different camps engaged each other in a vicious shouting match, each accusing the other of attempting to rig the elections.
