After Kenya 7s brushed aside Portugal 43-5 in their pool opener competitions, they lost to the Vancouver 7s competitions after their Main Cup semi finals were curtained by defeats to Samoa and Fiji on Sunday.
After intensive competition Kenya 7s lost narrowly to Samoa, 26-19.
Their final Pool A match against Fiji was a must win in order to take back their place into the main cup quarter finals.
At the 1st four minutes, Fijians snatched a quick 12 – 0 lead outwitting the Kenyan defense. But Collins Injera put Kenya back in the game by running three quarters the length of the pitch, build up by Oscar Ouma to score a memorable try.
This placed Injera 2nd in the all time top try scorers rankings.
In the second half, Kenya showed perseverance to level up with the Fijians where Sammy Oliech and Biko Adema lead Kenya by 19 – 17. It was a tense moment as the final moments intensified and got more wilder.
Kenya tried to consolidate their lead possession but Fijians snatched the victory from the jaws of defeat crushing Kenyans hopes of a quarterfinal. They won 24-19
