On the fateful day of September 21, 2013, Kenyans woke up to the sad news when the West Gate mall in Nairobi was under siege by the militia group Al Shabaab.
The attack which is so far on of the worst attacks Kenyans have ever experienced left 67 dead and over 100 injured.
Moving images taken during the attack reminded Kenyans of the dreadful day and also the impressive resilience of the Kenyan people. Many of the photos showed police officers and ordinary citizens coming together in the dreadful attack to save the lives of fellow Kenyans.
