There was confusion on Monday, August 21, when a Form 34A emerged online, one that has been signed by very unlikely agents.
The presidential election form, from a polling station in Runyenjes, Embu County, has the names of Opposition leader Raila Odinga and his rival President Uhuru Kenyatta, complete with their signatures.
Another peculiar thing about the form which was pulled from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) website is that it indicated that all agents had left the station during the counting period.
The Presiding Officer is indicated as Ezekiel Mugendi Ireri and his deputy as Judith Muthoni Ngendi and noted their observations at the comments section.
The same form also shows that Uhuru received 302 votes at the station while Nasa’s Raila managed a paltry three votes. Embu County is a perceived stronghold of the former.
This new development comes against the backdrop of a similar one where a handwritten form 34A from a North Eastern polling station appeared on the website.
The Wafula Chebukati-led led commission had a difficult time explaining the mix up to the public before pulled it down and replacing it with with the original form.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) led by its flagbearer in the August 8 presidential poll, Raila, has filed a petition with the Supreme Court, saying the polls were rigged in favour of the incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta.
