Former President Mwai Kibaki was among hundreds of passengers that were stranded at the Kisumu International Airport as KQ’s domestic flights delayed on Saturday.
Kibaki was on his way back to Nairobi from a function at Masinde Muliro University in Kakamega county.
The delays were experienced at major airports including Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Those affected by the delays complained that there was no clear communications from the airline’s management.
Passengers booked in Flight KQ A8650, which was scheduled to depart Nairobi for Kisumu at 6.30 am, were still at JKIA past midday on Saturday.
Kenya Airways has in the recent past suffered similar delays which the management has blamed on technical reasons.
In October, former politician Kenneth Matiba and his family were stranded at JKIA as Kenya Airways cancelled over 24 flights.
