City police have launched investigations into the murder of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s bodyguard which occurred on the morning of Saturday March 5, 2016.
According to a report carried by The Standard newspaper, Bakari Tsuma was shot on the forehead and died while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital.
The report indicates that Tsuma was first robbed of his gun by three men who were carrying AK47 rifles, before he was shot.
The incident occurred in Mwiki, Kasarani area in the capital city of Nairobi.
He had just dropped Sonko at an unnamed location in Gigiri, Nairobi, before the incident happened.
“We want to know how and why my bodyguard was killed. These seem to be professional people on a mission,” Sonko said as quoted by the reporter.
Tsuma’s body was flown to Kwale on Sunday March 6, 2016 for burial according to Islamic traditions.
