When devolution knocked in Kenyans saw a real change; supremacy wars among the governors began, from personalized car number plates, flags on their cars, red carpets and building or acquiring offices.
One thing that has been associated with our governors is the show of might, for instance the number of security a bodyguards is a clear indication of might. Nairobi governor is said to have the highest number of body guards.
However, the office of Kisumu governor Jack Ranguma has seen Kenyans talking in low turns after it emerged that governor Ranguma took a whole wing of the building and converted it into his office.
The office is located on the 9th floor of Prosperity house a house with no elevator. Ranguma uses stairs all the way to the 9th floor! The Kisumu governor does not come cheap,when this office was being renovated he stayed in a top hotel for a few days at a cost of Sh. 21 million.
