Legendary Congolese artiste Papa Wemba – real name, Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba – exited the music scene in a dramatic way. The ‘Show Me The Way’ hitmaker was performing at the Festival des Musiques Urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) – in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
While the whole world mourns untimely exit of the Rhumba music legend, Tanzanian bongo singer Diamond Platnumz has revealed that he recently collaborated with Papa Wemba on a yet to be released song.
On Monday, April 25, Bongo star Diamond shared via his Instagram page his last but memorable moment with the late Congolese King of Rumba music.
The song is a blend of the new and old generation of African musicians. Here at Waza we hope it will be released soon to Papa Wemba’s fans.
“Just four weeks ago we were in Paris, featured me in his song and we planned alot for the song and Suddenly got the news….dah! still don’t want to believe that you are really Gone Legend….We will always miss you 🙏… #RipPapaWemba”
