Kenyans are peculiar people with surprises and unending amusements. The woman with the worlds longest dreadlocks has been married by a Kenyan man who happens to be not only her companion but also her hair stylist.
Popularly known as Rasta Rapunzel, Asha Mandela has locks that measure a length of 55ft which is longer than the length of a double-Decker bus and the locks weigh 19kgs.
She is an holder of the Guinness World book of records with the longest dread locks in the whole world. Happily, the woman has found a life-time partner from here at home, Emmanuel Chege who is not only in love with her but also the locks which he personally styles and grooms.
Thanks to the internet, the two lovers met online three years ago after Emmanuel saw her photos on hair website. Emmanuel being a hair stylist fell in love with her and later contacted Asha and the rest became history.
“It was so amazing to see all this amount of hair,” Chege recalled. “It was more than in my imagination. At first I thought maybe her locks were almost to her knees or to the ground, but the first glance when I saw her hair, it was so long, so it was so amazing and her beauty was so amazing too.”
Two years down the line Aisha has entrusted her locks to the man of her dreams, Chege. The incredible woman who also owns her own hair products was sometimes back warned by doctors of paralytic chances if she kept on growing them due to the weight of the locks affecting her back.
The couple which seems to be stopping at nothing are said to be hitting the gym with Emmanuel helping her wife to strengthen her muscles.
However, the two couple hope to have a Rasta child soon. We Waza wish them all the very best.
