Detectives continue to probe the cold blood killing of IBC’s ICT boss Chris Msando and his lady friend Carol Ngumbu.
The two disappeared on the early morning of Saturday, July 29, after a night out at a Koinange street club.
Several theories have emerged since the body of the two were recovered at a forest in Nairobi’s outskirts of Kikuyu. Their bodies lay just within a few metres of each other.
A postmortem on Msando showed that the ICT guru was tortured then strangled to death with CCTV cameras detailing his movements from CBD to Mombasa road then back to town and Pangani before he varnished.
We have established that he was also dragged on a rough surface as there were scratches on his back
An autopsy done on Ngumbu, the 21 year old Kenya Medical Training College Karen campus student, revealed that she was also strangled with a rope. Witnesses who discovered the bodies said her clothes were missing except for her underwear.
Sources privy to the ongoing investigations told a local daily that sleuths have narrowed down to two possible causes of the heinous murders; tender wars at the electoral body and a love gone sour.
Msando’s death has caused tension in the country more so because of the timing as he was key in the preparations for the General Election which was just three days away.
Police have since interviewed six people of interest and are said to be looking for four others including a ‘stocky’ woman who was captured by CCTV seated in the front passenger seat of Msando’s car.
