CORD coalition has in the past been in a puzzle to announce who will be their flag bearer as all the principals had announced their candidature. Well, after a long time of uncertainty, CORD leader Raila Odinga on Thursday revealed the query that many of his supporters had.
Raila took the chance to reveal CORD’s candidate in his Kakamega tour assuring his supporters that he would be in the race to clinch the top job.
“I have heard your voice and I will be on the ballot as you have demanded,”
Raila was quoted by the Standard.
Raila was addressing over 3000 party supporters who wanted him to clarify on who would lead them come the 2017 polls.
In the past,ODM officials in Kakamega made it clear that they would only back CORD if Raila was made the Presidential candidate.
“You are the only ideal leader in the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy to be the flag bearer,”
ODM Malava Chairman Mark Wanzala said.
This could take a new political twist as one of the CORD principals, Moses Wetangula had also announced his candidature.
