The International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, on Thursday revealed that former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, had assured her that he will hand him over all the relevant documents she required to prosecute President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto.
While Making her submission to the ICC’s Trial Chamber V(b) judges ,Bensouda said she met Raila Odinga in London, who assured her that he will hand over all the relevant documents once he became the President of Kenya.
“Unfortunately the former PM lost badly to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, and that is why I am experiencing problems,” Bensouda told the judges.
Bensouda, who is a Gambian national, had also urged the court to adjourn Uhuru Kenyatta’s trial indefinitely until the Kenyan Government cooperates fully with the ICC.
Bensouda had no evidence to send Uhuru Kenyatta to trial on October 7 last year and also had no evidence to prosecute his DP William Ruto in April this year therefore pronouncing there’s no case to answer for all the Ocampo Six.
