Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria threatened to sue Cord leader Raila Odinga for treason following the protests for the disbandment of the IEBC on Monday.
Kuria took to his Facebook page on Wednesday night to announce the decision saying:
“Dear Kenyans. Please let us meet tomorrow Thursday 28th April 2016 at 11am at Milimani courts as we charge Raila Odinga with treason for subverting the constitution. Remember the penalty for treason if found guilty is death by hanging until one is certified dead by a qualified medical doctor”
On Thursday, Kuria teamed up with Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, Dennis Waweru, Kimani Ichungwa and Alice Ng’ang’a seeking to stop the protest by CORD leaders.
Kuria confirmed that they had indeed gone to court where they filed a case to stop CORD from protesting over IEBC.
He said they would be returning to court on Friday where Raila, Wetangula and Kalonzo have been summoned to appear.
The opposition has maintained that it will not go into the next election with the current IEBC and that they will hold demonstration till the IEBC is disbanded.
