The National Super Alliance (NASA) has cried foul over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC)’s live transmission of results citing lack of proper forms to corroborate the same.
Speaking at the coalition’s HQ earlier (August 8, 2017), co-principal Musalia Mudavadi revealed that they had been unable to reach a consensus with the electoral body based on the transmission.
According to the ANC leader, and Nasa by extension, the results being transmitted on TV were a fraud since there were no Forms 34A to support the transmission.
The Opposition says the IEBC had promised to send the forms via email to Nasa’s tallying centre at the time the meeting ended.
But speaking on the same on the morning of Wednesday, August 9, Raila said that the transmission of the results was contrary to section 39 of the Kenyan constitution.
He said he has rejected the results that were being transmitted in totality, asking the Wafula Chebukati-led team to stream the right results to Kenyans.
According to the Nasa flagbearer who is trailing his Jubilee counterpart by more than one million votes at the time of going to press, IEBC had no authority to transmit the election results without having the two forms; 34 A and 34 B.
As it stands [August 9, 2:40am], Uhuru Kenyatta has 6,044,745 votes vis a vis Raila’s 4,805,159.
