Kenyans were hard hit after news broke up on Sunday afternoon on an accident that claimed the lives of four innocent Kenyans on Lang’ata road.
Shocking sad details have now emerged regarding the situation and the fate of some of the casualties who survived the accident.
One of the victims, Lydia Karimi who perished in the horrific accident is said to have celebrated her 43rd birthday on Saturday, just hours before the incident. She is said to have been on her way to celebrate the birthday of another friend.
Three more victims are still undergoing treatment at St Mary’s Hospital having sustained serious injuries from the Sunday accident.
Charity Jona, a 37 year-old lady who is among the casualties experienced a double tragedy since her father is also admitted at the same facility for a different illness.
Another is John Kinuthia, a third-year student at Multimedia University, suffered a pelvic fracture and chest injuries and is likely to take four to six months to recover.
Two more victims of the accident are also set to undergo leg amputation following limb fractures they suffered.
The accident has prompted the public to raise concern over the safety of public means owing reckless matatu drivers operating in the area.
