Students from Moi University have been warned against kissing due to an outbreak of Hepatitis B, which has seen several students admitted at Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret after testing positive.
Hepatitis B is transmitted via body fluids and its an infectious decease whose virus affects the liver.
People around Eldoret have been warned against kissing because of the fluid exchange involved. Health Officers are working round the clock to know the root cause of the virus outbreak.
Over 100 cases of the dangerous Hepatitis A have since been reported in Mombasa over the last one month, with the outbreak being blamed on contaminated water.
An Influenza outbreak in Nakuru which killed 39 children was also reported.
By last week, more than 282 suspected cases of influenza type A and B had been reported in Nakuru County since its outbreak last month.
