Cabinet Secretary for Interior Fred Matiangi has asked Kenyans to resume with work and maintain peace as the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission awaits to release the Presidential candidate.
He added that Kenyans should stop listening to politicians who might try to incite them to violence and trust in the IEBC board to give fair and just results.
This comes after Matiang’i sent troops in Kisumu to ensure that the country remains peaceful and business to continue as normal.
He said: “We are very grateful that we were able to participate in the elections successfully and peacefully. There was no serious security cases reported; I therefore urge Kenyans to remain calm. Now that we have voted it is only fair and responsible for us as Kenyans to let the IEBC to continue with the process until its logical conclusion.”
