Details have emerged of how Raila and media mogul S.K Macharia had a deal that never saw the light. Macharia the owner of Royal Media Services supported Raila in 2013 general elections in which he thought the former prime minister would win, he however lost to Uhuru Kenyatta.
S.K spent a lot of resources and time going round the country especially the Central Kenya region to convince people to vote for Raila. The former Prime Minister Odinga had picked Macharia and former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga to bring votes from the Central region a move that saw them fail miserably.
Macharia spent Sh. 800 million on airtime running adverts for Cord which Raila failed to pay, prompting Macharia to think of suing Raila Odinga. Raila pleaded with him and Macharia sympathized with him and threw the case away.
To date Macharia regrets ever supporting Raila adding that he requested God to allow him forget the events of 2013 as he plans to support Uhuru in 2017.
