Multimedia students on strike over one of their own students, Cynthia Akoth who was killed on Sunday, September 25th, after a bus went off the road and overturned along Lang’ata Road.
The accident claimed at least four lives living many others in critical conditions. Akoth was alive when the rescue team arrived but passed on on arrival due to the injuries sustained.
She was a First Year pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Applied Communication. Her close friend revealed that their last conversation was when Akoth told her that she was on her way to visit her aunt who lives in the outskirts of Nairobi.
Unfortunately she never got there. Students were forced to protest against the reckless driving on the road since it was not the first time they had lost a student.
A Third Year student was also knocked down by a speeding matatu along Magadi road a few days ago.
