A KNUT official was arraigned in court on Wednesday for allegedly insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Kennedy Nyamwanda Ondieki who is based in Nyamira County is accused of calling the president a ‘bhang smoker’ during a meeting held last year where he was addressing the countrywide teachers’ strike.
A charge sheet before the judge, indicated that Ondieki said: “Uhuru Kenyatta onyure enyasore enyinge yagerire akoraa eserekari ya Kenya gochia rochie.”
When translated says: “Uhuru Kenyatta has smoked a lot of bhang to the extent that he leading the country to a river.”
Ondieki however denied the charge and was granted a Sh20,000 bond by Magistrate Towett. The case will be mentioned on November 21.
