Crime in towns keep on increasing with mysterious and crazy stunts. Recently, police arrested five suspects who allegedly have been distributing home-made yoghurt using suspicious ingredients.
Nakuru health officers seized over 200 liters of yoghurt manufactured without milk which have been distributed to many stores in the markets of Nakuru.
The five suspects, Eusemia Osore, Richards Myron, Luke Ochieng, John Ombongi and Kanuty Osoere were captured at their manufacturing hall in Mnyani Estate, where police and health officers destroyed the yoghurts.
Nakuru health officer, Vanice Kwamboka said that the officers were on a mission on the ongoing polio vaccination exercise when they were alerted by some locals.
“The ingredients used for making the product include corn flour – a product specially made for thickening soups, sauces and gravies, food coloring and henna – a product used for decorating nails mostly by women and dying hair,”
The office added that the products were extremely harmful for consumption since they contain chemicals such as henna-a product used for decoration- that is also mixed with yeast, stabilizer powder, sugar and water besides the corn flour and other additives.
The products that were captured bore the Kenya Bureau of Standards quality.
