The Kenya 7’s team departed the country on the eve of 29th Feb  for Las Vegas, USA where they played in the fifth round of the 2015/16 HSBC Sevens World Series, the USA Sevens taking place on 4-6 March. The team pooled alongside New Zealand, Portugal and Russia.

The team qualified for the Main Cup quarters with a game on hand after winning their first two Pool A matches, at the Sam Boyd Stadium. Australia and South Africa are also to play the quarter finals as they won in their respective pools.
Legend Ayimba said in a speech “We must play any game with a lot of zeal. We still have one against New Zealand that we need to sort out, we are looking to clean up and improve our performances,”.
Humphrey Kayange scored 151 points trying to put Kenya ahead in the match against Portugal. Biko Adema gave a successful conversion, Oscar Ouma came in handy before Collins Injera touched down and scored Kenya 22-0 by half time. Billy Odhiambo showed Russians what he was made of as he closed the grounds with a mighty 24-22 win for Kenya.
After all Blacks, winners of Wellington and Sydney, beat Portugal 42-7 and Russia 38-0. Kenya has scored a 22-0 against New Zealand becoming Pool A winner. A big congratulations to our national team.

South Africa won in both matched, Canada went on draw 26-26 with hosts USA with both sides aiming to take the second qualification spot from Pool D. USA won their opening match 19-12 against Wales before the enthralling draw with North American rivals and next week’s hosts Canada.
