A Kenyan Member of Parliament (MP) has already won the August poll, all he needs to do now is sit pretty and wait to be sworn in.
The man in question is none other than the current legislator for Kikuyu constituency Kimani Ichung’wah.
Kimani, an accountant by profession, became the first member of the 12th parliament on Tuesday, albeit unofficially.
This was after he was gazetted by the IEBC as the only candidate in the vast constituency.
This simply means that he will be elected unopposed and pundits are split on whether Kikuyu residents should vote for their MP.
While some argue that the electorate need to exercise their right to vote, others feel it will be a waste of time and resources.
