Police officers on Thursday noon arrested a woman who is alleged to be the most wanted terrorist Samantha Lewthwaite alias White Widow.
Anti-Terrorism Police Unit officers responded after City dwellers raised an alarm that a woman suspected to be the infamous terrorist has been spotted. So they blocked the car where this woman and two other men were at Nairobi, along Moi Avenue.
They held the suspects hostage for a while as they waited for the officers to arrive following an earlier alert warning that Al Shabaab militants were planning possible retaliatory attacks in Kenya after the deadliest attack at Brussels. The three were taken to Railways Police Station where they were interrogated for hours before being handed over to the authority for further questioning.
The suspected woman said she came to Kenya to visit a friend in Mandera and she’s not the alleged terrorist in question.
Samantha has been on international police radar from several years after being suspected of masterminding terror attacks in different countries.
She was behind the Westgate terror attack where more that 60 people died in 2013.
