Ukambani Professionals Want Mutua to Vie for presidency in 2017

A section of leaders in Ukambani want Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua to vie for the presidency in the 2017 general election and not to be scared by Wiper Principal Kalonzo Musyoka or Machakos Senator Muthama.

The leaders said that Mutua has the qualities of becoming the county’s fifth President.

The leaders led by Kitui North MP Joseph Munuve said that Mutua has shown a development track record and that he can manage the country if elected President.

“We are urging Governor Alfred Mutua to consider vying for the president seat in the 2017 general elections because has the qualities,” said Munuve.

The Kitui North MP said that they will muscle suppport for Mutua if he declares intention to vie for the president seat. He said that it is time for Ukambani to have a president adding that the region has suffered for many years.

Machakos town MP Victor Munyaka lauded Mutua’s development agenda urging locals to support him.

“Governor Mutua has initiated many development projects which some leaders who have been in power for more than 30 years failed to initiate,” said the MP.

The Machakos town lawmaker said that Machakos has transformed courtesy of Mutua’s development agenda. He asked residents to ignore petty politics and smear campaigns being perpetuated by some politicians.

“We are aware and know that some politicians are engaging in selfish politics and we will not listen to their divisive tactics,” said the MP.

Kalembe Ndile, former Kibwezi MP who spoke at the meeting lauded Mutua champion development.

“Governor Mutua has been rated number one ion terms of development which is not a mean achievement,” he said.

Ndile urged Mutua to continue spearheading development assuring him of the people’s support in 2017.

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ezekiel Mutua who spoke at the meeting said that Machakos was one of the best-performing counties. He lauded Governor Mutua for improving the infrastructure especially roads.

The KFCB Chief Executive Officer appealed to residents and other leaders to work with Governor Mutua to spearhead more development projects.
