In Kenya we are not so good with Keep Change phrase like in the west. Every morning and every evening for the matatu users, one has to be very clear with the amount to be charged for fare.
However some touts lie to the travelers before boarding the matatu saying that the charges are slightly lower than the normal or they will be heard shouting amount of money to charge the travelers but once the matatu starts moving, some manner less touts hike the fares!
However one woman from the infamous route Easlando was charged hundred bob instead of 80 shilling she was told before boarding the matatu.
The angry woman unleashed her wrath to the tout where the other travelers joined in to support her. In the video the woman is heard saying ‘gari ni 80 bob….leta mbao’ which translates to the fare is 80 bobbring my 20 bob.
