There is sadness in the country again. Thursday morning Kenyans woke up to sad news from Lake Victoria after 2 boats collided and capsized killing many innocent Kenyans.
The incidence which occurred between Kiwa and Ramba Islands, involved a passenger boat which collided with a stationary fishing board and the two boats capsized as a result. The incident happened in February but Kenyans were really shocked since the Kenyan case at the Hague was still pending.
Among those confirmed dead are two children named Fatou Bensouda after the ICC prosecutor, and Eda Anyanga, 4, who were travelling with their mother to Kisumu. It is not clear how many people were on the fateful passenger boat that capsized but sources estimate it at 200.
Speaking to journalists this morning, Suba MP, John Mbadi, sent condolences to the bereaved families and also suggested banning of night trips on the lake.
