Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, has unveiled forthcoming updates for the social media chat app WhatsApp. In a statement shared through his WhatsApp channel on Thursday, Zuckerberg revealed that users will soon have the capability to manage two accounts on a single phone.

During the demonstration, he showcased the changes by effortlessly transitioning between his professional and personal accounts, both of which were linked to distinct phone numbers.

“Switch between two accounts on WhatsApp. Soon you will be able to have two WhatsApp accounts on one phone within the app,” the billionaire announced.
The upcoming alterations will be groundbreaking for Kenyan users seeking to delineate their work, business, and personal interactions. Presently, WhatsApp users are restricted to using a single account on a single device. Nevertheless, they do have the option to register their accounts on additional devices.
“If you have a dual SIM phone, please note that you still must choose one number to verify with WhatsApp. There is no option to have a verified WhatsApp account with two different phone numbers.
“If you attempt to frequently switch your WhatsApp account between different devices, at a certain point, you may be blocked from re-verifying your account. Please don’t repeatedly switch between different devices and numbers,” WhatsApp guidelines read.
