The Directorate Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives have arrested three men and intercepted 45 bales of bhang weighing 138 kilograms in two separate yet interconnected incidents in Nakuru County.

In the first incident, police intercepted a Nissan Vanette vehicle reg. no. KBX 684H ferrying 9 bales of bhang disguised as animal feeds in Subukia, Nakuru County following a tip-off from members of the public.

Upon interrogation by DCI detectives, the vehicle's driver, 32-year-old Evans Oluoch Rogo, led detectives to two of his accomplices in Nakuru City, where the confiscated load was destined.

 In a statement on X, DCI says the duo, Ali Abdikadir Ali, 30, and Ortofa Dida, 28, were found in possession of 36 bales of the outlawed drug, found stashed within a Toyota Crown vehicle reg. no. KBZ 861H.


"Oluoch's two accomplices who were enjoying a cool breeze at Qualit Hotel in the city of Nakuru were also arrested and 36 bales of the green herb weighing 79kg seized from their saloon car.”

"The case was referred to the Rift Valley Regional Headquarters in Nakuru where legal procedures have been instigated."
