After being found in possession of cannabis seeds, a 35-year-old man was taken into custody and placed in the Bondo police station.

Milton Odera Awuondo was taken into custody last night at his residence in Usire Village, West Sakwa location, Bondo sub-county.

Siaya County Police Commander Mr. Cleti Kimaiyo stated that the suspect was taken into custody by Bondo police station officers after they received a tip from members of the public saying that the man was suspected of growing marijuana.

He claimed that the officers went to Odera's house, which is located inside a sizable compound that is thought to be 30 acres, and arrested him there based on the intelligence report.


The head of police continued by saying that during the suspect's home search, various cans containing seeds that were thought to be cannabis sativa were found.

According to Mr. Kimaiyo, extensive farm and forest land estates were also searched, but no mature bhang seedlings were discovered.

Thursday, May 2, 2024, is the scheduled date of the suspect's arraignment.
