All students preparing for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams have been urged to put in their best effort by President William Ruto.

President Ruto told the students during his Monday speech at Kikuyu Township Primary School in Kiambu County that the government had established a supportive atmosphere to guarantee a smooth transition to higher education.

"I see you are ready," he said as he oversaw the exams kick-off.

"To all candidates who are doing this exam today, I wish you all the best and success in these exams. As you go into the exam room know that you are not alone so be confident, do your best, and carry out the exams knowing that we have an opportunity for every child to progress their education into the next level."

The Head of State encouraged the candidates to put their best foot forward as they take the national examinations before praying for them.

"We have made education our top priority, and I want you to make us proud because you are our country's wealth and future. The greatest asset is you," he remarked.

Along with other officials, Ruto was accompanied by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung'wah and Cabinet Secretary for Education Ezekiel Machogu.

Approximately 1.2 million candidates will take the KPSEA exam, and over 1.4 million candidates will take the KCPE exam.
