Chesewos village residents joined the celebration after the recently announced 2023 KCSE results brought joy to the little-known Segero Chesowos Adventist school in Trans Nzoia County.

Valencia Kapkarich is one of the six students from the extra-county school who received an A-minus.

“At first nilikua like so low lakini walimu walitumotivate they were realy motivating thats why tulikua na hiyo energy,” Kapkarich said.

"We had a mean target of 9.5, but God was gracious. He has given us more than we asked," stated the school's principal, Betwel Kemboi.


Teachers and parents applauded the 50 students who took the KCSE exams for succeeding against all odds.

"Nidhamu ni ya hali ya juu pili ni watoto wanao muogopa mungu na walimu na wanaojituma," stated deputy principal Josephat Machogu.

Six, 34, nine, and one of the 50 students who took the 2023 national examinations received an A-minus, B-plus, or B-plain, respectively.

The average grade for the school was 9.9.
