On Tuesday, Nigerian singer Tiwatope Omolara Savage, widely recognized as Tiwa Savage, made an announcement regarding her temporary break from the music scene.
In a formal statement, the singer detailed that as a result, she will regrettably have to cancel all scheduled appearances and performances, whether as a participant or headliner.
Tiwa disclosed that she has been diagnosed with a virus and medical professionals have advised her to observe a period of vocal rest for the coming months.
She, however, did not reveal how long she would be away from the music scene.
"To my dear Savage Soldiers, I've been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months," Tiwa said.

"I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances including my first-ever headline arena show in London."
The singer expressed her heartfelt apologies to her fans, conveying her deep distress over this unforeseen development.
She emphasized that this decision is in her best interest, a necessary step to preserve her voice. Additionally, she assured her fans that once she makes a full recovery, she will return to the stage with renewed vigor.
"I'm heartbroken and devastated but I have to do this to save what's left of my voice.
"I'm so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I'm fully healed," the singer added.
Tiwa Savage holds a special place in the hearts of many across Africa and beyond, thanks to her exceptional lyrical talent.
In the previous month, she graced the stage as one of the headline acts at the Walker Town event in Nairobi's Uhuru Gardens. She shared the spotlight with esteemed artists like Congolese singer Fally Ipupa and Kenya's own Nyashinski.
This event stands out as one of her final performances before she revealed her decision to take a hiatus from the music scene.
