Four people have been taken into custody after filming what the police are referring to as a malicious TikTok prank video in front of the Kilifi Police Station.

The four are Omar Juma Omar (19), Caleb Gunga Kahindi (18), Samson Biwott Omungata (17), and Shabir Ali Suleiman (27).

One of the suspects approached a cleaning steward and asked permission to film a video inside the police premises. Still, the steward refused, according to a police statement obtained by Waza News.

Nevertheless, he allegedly continued to film a stage-managed prank video with his three accomplices.

"One guy pretended to be drunk and got mugged/robbed by two other guys who were on a motor cycle while another was recording," read the police report.

The suspects allegedly continued to post the footage on the TikTok account @shabir_shirazy003, captioning it with the phrases "Man gets robbed off near a police station in Kilifi" and "Wezi mbele ya police station."

Now that they have access to CCTV footage of the suspects filming the prank video, the police claim that the video damaged the station's reputation.
