Celebrated Kenyan media personality Stephen Maunda, popularly known as Shatta Bway, has officially announced his departure from TV47.

The renowned Reggae show host and emcee shared the news on his Facebook page on Saturday, May 3rd.

In his post, Shatta Bway also revealed that he has stepped down from his roles at sister station Radio 47, as well as Maybets, where he served as the Director of Projects and Strategy.

The media personality announced today that he has officially resigned from his position, expressing gratitude to his former bosses at Cape Media for the opportunity to serve in his previous roles.

Shatta Bway extended his best wishes to TV47, Radio 47, and Mybets, hoping for their continued success in the future. As for his next move, the versatile media figure hinted at a return to radio, noting that many of his fans have been urging him to make a comeback. However, he kept his followers in suspense, choosing not to disclose the specific radio station he plans to join.

He just told his fans to stay tuned and wait for the day when he will make that announcement officially.

It’s worth noting that Shatta Bway has departed from Cape Media after serving for just one year.

The renowned Reggae host joined the media house in March 2024, following his exit from Radio Citizen, where he had spent five years hosting the popular show Waks Tikitaka.

At TV47, he was the face of the Reggae program TV47 Irie Vibes, which aired every Saturday at 10 PM. In addition to that, he held roles as a presenter on Radio 47 and served as the Director of Projects and Strategy at Mybets.
