Popular Mugithi singer and police officer Samidoh Muchoki has finally spoken out after facing a wave of online criticism for his appearance at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki’s residence in Karen.

Samidoh was among several Kikuyu musicians spotted at an event hosted by DP Kindiki. During the visit, he made remarks hinting at the government's chances of securing a second term — a move that ignited heated debate across social media.

Critics quickly took to online platforms, accusing the singer of turning his back on the people. Some even dragged in nominated Senator Karen Nyamu, his ex-lover, suggesting political and personal motives behind his appearance.

Samidoh’s Cryptic Response

In response to the backlash, Samidoh took to social media with a cryptic message:

"In a war of ego the loser wins."

The post sparked widespread speculation, with fans trying to decode its meaning and determine who it was aimed at.

One Facebook user, Blessed Stephen Wamugure, joked:

"Samidoh thought they were going to visit Karen Nyamu, only to find himself in the wrong Karen."

To this, Samidoh cheekily replied:

"Mnajua mimi ni mtoto yatima?"

(Do you guys know that I’m an orphan?)

The humorous comment lightened the mood, with fans responding with laughter and easing up on the criticism.

Politics and Performance

Interestingly, Samidoh had been seen just hours earlier performing at a local venue where he appeared to sing praises of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. This came just before Gachagua issued a stern warning, demanding apologies from all musicians who visited Kindiki — or face a full boycott.

Many observers interpreted this as Samidoh’s attempt to walk a political tightrope and maintain neutrality amid growing tensions within the Mount Kenya leadership.
