Mueni, wife to the celebrated city designer and fashion icon Bolo Bespoke, has responded firmly to critics questioning her age following an elaborate birthday surprise from her husband ahead of her 31st birthday.
In an exclusive interview with YouTuber Trudy Kitui on the night of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, Mueni addressed the speculation head-on, taking aim at those spreading rumours about her age. She made it clear that she remains unfazed by the online chatter and the alternative ages being circulated.
"I know for a fact that I'm turning 31," she stated confidently, brushing off the exaggerated claims with poise and assurance.
“Everyone has their own level of understanding — if you want to imagine that I am 51 or even 100, that is fine; if you feel I look 16 or 20, that is also alright — but my age belongs to me,” she stated calmly but firmly.
Mueni further noted that she is fully aware that she might not be able to control what Kenyans say when they decide to run wild with gossip, and emphasised that anyone who believes they know too much about her should boldly come forward and state their case.

“I have nothing to say to them — the one who gave birth to me or the one parading themselves as my mother should come forward and speak the truth, because you cannot continue forcing people to accept what they do not want to hear,” she said, unapologetically.
Mueni went on to dispel claims that she is approaching 50 — a number that has become a fixation for many online commentators. Setting the record straight, she revealed that she is currently 30 years old and will be turning 31 in August 2025.
In the same breath, she shared her plans to mark the milestone in spectacular fashion, teasing an extravagant, state-of-the-art celebration that she promises will be nothing short of dazzling. Kenyans, she said, should brace themselves for a birthday party to remember.
“I am turning 31 on 31st August, and I have officially stepped onto the third floor — and I am doing it in style. As I told you, I am the queen of launches. Every season, I unveil something new. I will celebrate in full bloom,” she affirmed with a gleaming smile.
Mueni shared that her desire to celebrate stems from a deep sense of gratitude, emphasizing that reaching 31 is a significant milestone and a testament to divine favour.
Speaking with heartfelt emotion, she reflected on the many lives lost at a young age — some before even hitting 30 — and expressed her profound thankfulness. “I’ve seen so many people not make it this far,” she said, adding that she is truly grateful to have experienced life through three full decades and counting.
“I will celebrate because people are passing away at 29, 28, and even younger — but God has poured grace over me and allowed me to keep spinning on this planet. When I turned 30, even though we may not have posted much, I declared that it was my year of transformation — 30 brings its own battles, and if you enter it with clarity, then 31 becomes the year to execute all that you envisioned,” she shared with heartfelt emotion.
Mueni’s Business
In the same interview, Mueni also spoke about the children’s boutique she recently launched alongside her husband, Bolo, expressing immense joy at the rapid growth and warm reception the venture has received within the industry.
She praised Kenyans for turning their online support into real action, saying they have “quite literally walked the talk” by showing up and purchasing from the boutique. Overflowing with gratitude, Mueni extended heartfelt thanks to every customer who has supported their new business.
She admitted that words alone couldn’t capture the depth of her appreciation, saying the overwhelming support had left her truly humbled.
"I still cannot believe the outpouring of support I have received for this business, even from people outside of Nairobi. the love has been overwhelming. At first, I had my doubts because the location seemed a bit far from the main stage, but surprisingly, it is incredibly convenient — people come through, find ample space, do their shopping, and head home directly with ease,” she said, beaming with gratitude.
