Authorities in Nairobi have arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of being linked to terrorism-related activities.
According to a statement from the National Police Service (NPS), the suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended late Tuesday night by officers on patrol from Kamukunji Police Station. The man’s suspicious and erratic behavior reportedly raised red flags, prompting the officers to stop and question him.
Upon searching his bag, police discovered 21 detonators, 21 packets believed to contain ammonium nitrate, a five-meter electric cable, and several other suspicious items.
The suspect has since been transferred to the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit (ATPU) for further questioning as the investigation continues.
