The former Borabu parliamentary candidate Naftali Ontweka's body will be returned to his widow, Zipporah Masese Ondieki, and buried in Kamulu, according to a ruling by the Court of Appeal in Kisii County.
The deceased passed away in April of last year, but his brothers filed a lawsuit to overturn the choice to bury the body in Kamulu.
His brothers desired that he be buried in Kiango, Kisii County, where he also owned a house, but his widow wanted him to be buried in Kamulu since that was their marital residence.
The court dismissed the three brothers' appeal in its entirety, which found that it lacked merit.

The court further stated that the three brothers could participate in the Gusii customs and attend the burial.
"For the avoidance of doubt, the body of the deceased shall be released to Zipporah Masese Ondieki, the respondent. The appellants are at liberty to attend burial and perform the Gusii customary rites," reads the Court of Appeal decision.
