Machakos governor Wavinya Ndeti has announced that the horrible Machakos road accident victims will be treated for free.
Nine people died in the accident involving a 41-seater matatu traveling from Kitui to Machakos.
Eight people perished on the scene, including seven adults and one child, while the driver died upon arrival at Machakos Level 5 hospital.

According to Machakos County Health CEC Daniel Yumbya, the total number of patients transferred to Machakos level 5 was 35, with four of them in critical condition and unmarked because they were unable to speak.
Twenty-four more patients are being treated for significant injuries but are in stable condition.
Yumbya also stated that they had recalled all the medical officials at home.
"All relatives of the affected casualties will have to first visit a desk that has been set for them for counselling and as of now the casualty has been closed for visitors," the CECM said in a press release.
